Spring 2024 Pinacle Rock Townline Access Side Trail
My second hike of the year was on the Pinacle Rock Townline Access Side Trail. On the drive there it started snowing lightly. The trail was a bit slippery but we had a good hike. There is a beautifull waterfall just past Pinacle Rock. The first part of the trail is easy. The way to the waterfall involves climbing down among a bunch of huge rocks. The climb is well worth it.

Winter 2024 Memorial Forest Side Trail ( Springmount )
My first hike of the year was the Memorial Forest Side Trail in the Pottawatomi Conservation Area. Part of the Bruce Trail System this is a beautifull place to walk. You follow the base of the escarpment until you reach Jones Falls. The rocks along the way are enormous. After spending some time at the Falls you walk up through a narrow opening in the rocks to the top of the escarpment. There you reach the Main Bruce Trail. Turn right and follow the trail back to your car.

Sulphur Spring Conservation
Sulphur Spring Conservatiuon Area is a great place to photograph Spring Wildflowers. This is one of the Saugenn Valley Conservation Areas. There is a nice trail leading back to a sulphur spring. At he back of the area is a hardwood bush covered in wildflowers. The following photos are some of my favorites

Pottawatamoi Conservation Area
We always enjoy visiting the Pottawatamoi Conservation Area at Springmount. Located just a short distance from Owen Sound it is a easy place to visit.
